In the two aspects of Korean Orthography—prescriptive norm of language life and a text that requires its completion—the latter attracts less academic attention. This study explores the internal completion of the text itself, focusing the microscopic aspects of the text, that are the logical consistency between the rules and examples, and so on.
Five criteria constitute a basis of examining the internal completion of the text in this study. Principles and findings are as follows: the criteria of the internal completion from microscopic perspectives include the principle of consistency(consistency between the descriptions and examples of rules), clearity(expression without ambiguity), generality(generalization for the use), easiness(easy understanding and use of rules), and conciseness(concise description of all rules).
This study found that several rules are were in violation of some principles and were to be revised. The analysis in this study also demands that the revision of the text should be made with deletion, merge, amendment, and so on.
