Recently in order to avoid the image of an industry downturn stemming from the vacuum by the industrial structure change, municipal governments are setting out to build up an city image by developing the brand. As the entity that brands the city’s image and distributes the city has also changed and expanded more and more, the public sectors have been actively taking an initiative to improve the value of the city recently while the private had previously promoted it for short-term tourism. The core of the branding and marketing processes is to give the city an image and manage its resources in the city. Giving a city the image could be a tool to create a common vision to the resident having attachment and a sense of pride to where they lives. The method is also being changed from publications such as the old travel guides and urban life information sheets to digital devices via the Internet and mobile recently with the advancement of IT technology. This paper provides policy implications and indicators for future research by conducting a study of users’ behaviors that recognize connections to and images of a city’s homepage in creating the city branding or city images.
