This study begins with an attempt to understand the women’s turning to prostitution through the poverty issue. I first examined the previous studies on the principle of poverty relief in the neoliberal era, which makes a life of the poor a factor of income. Furthermore, I tried to analyze the characteristics of poverty experienced by contemporary women, noting that there were differences in the way in which women remembered and explained their poverty depending on the time of turning to prostitution. This study defines the sex industry as a “poverty industry” that suspends poverty by granting credit to their “future” income for the problems women experience “today,” but ultimately regenerates their poverty by forcing women to pull out their future of falling value. In particular, through the concept of “easy money” appearing in the credit expansion phase, this study tried to expose the problem of the expanding structure of the current sex industry by paying for the future income of women, especially the traded women's body and sex. This research has implications for the dynamic of reality in which the contemporary sex industry colluded with various industry network to capture poor women as prostitutes and to reproduce their poverty.
