A beach on the day of ‘tragedy’ was midsummer. There were many clouds floating in the sky above the sea, and the hot sun rays were filled with ‘anger’. And there was a ‘tragedy’ in which three of six family members died under the landscape. The ‘rage’ that swelled in the hot air of the middle summer became a reality as a ‘tragedy’. The ending of the text is that Tomoko comes back to A beach in summer and stays facing the sea and faces a ‘tragedy’ two years ago. Just as it took two years for Tomoko to return to the origin of the tragedy, Mishima also needed time to face the war. At some point in time after the war ended, and at the time of the first round trip around the world, I had the opportunity to face again, before and after the war with my own problems. Therefore, the death of Mishima in the summer season should be regarded as a monumental work to announce the beginning of postwar period in Mishima literature.
