This study is to examine the East Asian flow and change of feminist knowledge culture through the book, Onnagirai: Misogyny in Japan, written by Ueno Chizuko. The theory of East Asia is the topic of sociology of knowledge that has been debated for more than 20 years in South Korea. However, feminism has been mainly used as a tool to explain and change the Korean society represented by 2015. In this study, East Asia was analyzed with a translation-related perspective, juxtaposing the time of 1995 and 2015, with the works by Ueno Chizuko. It points out some of the trends that were seen in unprecedented boom of feminism as the name of gender-essentialism and revealed that this trend was the effect of 1995 when Asia was mobilized as a target of development and embraced it domestically and internationally. It is the same problem with the book of Ueno Chizuko, Onnagirai: Misogyny in Japan which pathologize the hatred, and Patriarchy and Capitalism which rejects the contemporariness between Korea or Asia, and Japan. This study urged the critique of Asian feminism reinforced by gender-essentialist feminism through the post-colonial reflection to the universal discourse of women's human rights, and the creation of a possibility of political resistance in consideration of historical temporality.
