본 연구는 코로나19로 인한 심리·정서적 어려움을 극복하기 위하여 전국민 대상의 한국상담학회 ‘코로나19 핫라인 긴급전화상담’에 참여한 전문상담사의 경험을 탐색하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 ‘코로나19 긴급전화상담’에 참여한 전문상담사 중 연구참여 의사를 밝힌 총 13명을 대상으로 전문가그룹인터뷰(FGI)를 진행하였고, 면담내용을 합의적 질적 연구방법(Consensual Qualitative Research, CQR)으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 긴급전화상담에 대한 전문상담사들의 경험은 ‘참여 동기’, ‘전화수신에 대한 태도’, ‘전화상담자로서의 경험’, ‘운영체계 경험’, ‘참여의미’, ‘심리상담적 개입’, ‘전문성 함양의 제언’ 등 총 7가지 대범주와 18개의 소범주로 나타났다. 긴급전화상담사들은 일반적으로 전문가로서 사회적 활동에 참여하고 싶은 동기에 의해 참여하였으며, 전화상담자로서 내담자로 인해 보람을 느끼며 전화상담의 효과를 경험하였다. 전문상담사들이 긴급전화상담에서 한 주요 심리상담적 개입으로는 부정적 감정을 정화하는 정서적 개입과 인지・행동적 개입이었다. 무엇보다도 참여자들은 상담자로서의 정체감과 사회적 기여에 대한 자부심을 경험하였다. 본 연구를 통해 감염병 재난상황에서의 긴급전화상담을 운영하는 전문상담사의 경험 및 의미, 역할에 대해 깊이 있게 이해할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 향후 재난 상황에서의 비대면상담, 전화상담 운영, 상담자 교육 등에 시사점을 제안하였다.The purpose of this research is to understand the experiences of professional counselors who served for Korean people through Covid-19 Hot-line counseling to overcome the psychological and emotional difficulties caused by Covid 19. For this study, 3 focus group interviews were conducted to 13 hot-line counselors for psychological support of Covid-19 crisis. They were willing to participate in the research. The results derived from the Consensual Qualitative Analysis method. Based on a qualitative framework, as a result, 7 categories and 18 subcategories emerged. Seven categories were such as these; motivation for participation, attitude of incoming phone call, experience as hot-line counselor, experience of operating system, meaning of participation, psychotherapeutic intervention, suggestion for professional counseling. Through the result, the hot-line professional counselors in this study participated voluntarily according to motivation that want to serve for community. Psychotherapeutic intervention skills of hot-line professional counselors commonly were emotional catharsis skills for negative feelings, and cognitive-behavioral strategies. Above all, the participants experienced their identity as counselors and took pride on being able to socially contribute. Through the research, we can deeply understand the experiences, meaning and roles of professional counselors who operate hot-line counseling during disease outbreaks, based on the observation, the implications on performing non-face-to-face counseling sessions, operating telephone counseling, educating the hot-line counselors and many others during such outbreaks were suggested.
