The present study aims to understand the experience and meaning of the non-suicidal self-injury disclosure experience. For this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with 9 participants and the collected data were analyzed using the Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. As a result of the study, 6 categories, 23 theme groups, and 79 themes were created. Participants were reluctant to disclose it because of fear of stigma and unwillingness to make it difficult for those who close to them, hiding the scars and avoiding talking about it in order not to disclose it. However, under conditions such as an intimate object with a sense of stability, non-suicidal self-injury has been disclosed and the reasons for the disclosure were different depending on the subject. As a result, the response of the disclosure objects appeared as various responses which were divided into positive and negative experiences. Based on the results, implications and limitations of the present study were discussed.
