Tapgol Park, which was usually used by the elderly, was completely banned from February 20, 2020, except for temporary opening for free meal, as part of social distancing to prevent Corona 19 infection. Nevertheless, a number of the elderly still gather around the park, raising concerns about the possibility of infection. How can we understand the visiting to the park of the elderly who are susceptible to infection even though they violate the government's social distancing policy? To respond to this question, the experiences of the elderly male who use the park were analyzed with Interpretative Phenomenoligical Analysis. Six elderly males who visited the park from September to October 2020 were selected by employing an intentional sampling method. In-depth interview for 90 minutes was conducted three times for each subject and the collected data were analyzed through IPA procedure. According to the study, five master themes were derived such as; the improvement of physical activities and self-management; a maelstrom of complicated emotions due to the pandemic; a meal service to provide nutrients for the body and mind; transcendence and resignation; and a longing for human interaction. The meal service at Tapgol Park serves as a place where they can engage in communication and exchanges with people, going beyond the simple meaning of providing just a meal. It was confirmed that they have suffered severe psychological pain from isolation and alienation from human relations, and loneliness due to the pandemic, which outweigh the feat of infection and death. This result suggests an implication for the prevention of the epidemic for the elderly in terms of psychological intervention in the social crisis like Corona 19.
