The purpose of this study is to examine whether non-self perspective(NSP) mediates the relationship between mindfulness and psychological health. NSP refers to the idea that ‘Self’ is nothing more than a phenomenological experience that changes every moment according to the conditions, and represents the Buddhist and meditative self-view obtained through mindfulness. An online survey was conducted on 268 adult men and women, of which 249 data were used for analysis, excluding unfaithful respondents and outlier. it was respectively verified through a structural equation model whether NSP mediates the relationships between mindfulness and depression, perceived stress, and subjective well-being. The results of the analysis were as follows. First, it was found that mindfulness had negative effects on depression and perceived stress, and had positive effects on subjective well-being. Second, it was found that mindfulness had positive effects on NSP. Third, it was found that NSP had negative effects on depression, and had positive effects on subjective well-being. Fourth, the partial mediating effect of NSP was respectively significant in the relationships between mindfulness and depression and subjective well-being. The results of this study suggest that understanding the impermanence and interdependence of the existence of ‘Self’ through mindfulness can not only reduce depression but also increase well-being. Finally, the limitations and implications of this study were discussed.
