Depressive disorder is the colds of the mind that anyone can catch at least once in their lifetime. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, face-to-face relationships have decreased and the economic situation has become difficult, and a depressive disorder, also called “corona blue” has increased. The incidence rate of depressive disorder in the Republic of Korea is about 36.8%, which is the highest among OECD countries, but the treatment rate is the lowest. Thus, in this paper, a meditation therapeutic approach for mild depressive disorder that does not last more than two weeks, that is, not at the level of drug treatment, was reviewed. According to previous studies, depressive disorder is an overactive response to stress and is related to dysfunction of serotonin, a neurotransmitter in the prefrontal cortex of the brain. This has been measured as a deepening of asymmetric activation of the left and right sides of the prefrontal cortex, and the meditation therapeutic approach has been reported to improve this imbalance of the left and right brain. With the increasing trend of depressive disorder, follow-up studies are needed from various perspectives on the meditation therapeutic approach for alleviating the depressive symptoms of adults suffering from employment and economic problems, including adolescents suffering from the stress due to studies and university entrance exams.
