‘The age of natural science’is one of the expressions that represent the 21st century. Likewise, natural science is the field of study that has the strongest influence in the present time. Natural science asserts the origin of the universe by claiming that the cosmos began from the Big Bang Cosmology 14 billion years ago and advanced into the state of the current universe.
As Christianity is based on the faith that God created the universe, how can the natural science based explanation be accepted and explained? Many teenagers who attend church find differences in what they learn about the origin of the universe during the regular course at school compared to what they learn at church. Moreover, they are confused because of the hostile assertion at church that quantum theoretic Big Bang Cosmology is absurd. In addition, this issue not only affects teenagers, as church school teachers and responsible religious workers who guide the young ones are having trouble due to the lack of theoretical church school educational contents to guide them suitably.
Therefore, this study will explore quantum theoretic Big Bang Cosmology that speaks of the origin of the universe in natural science from a Christian viewpoint through evolutionary theism, Augustine’s theory of continuing creation, and law of seeds theological tools to verify that Christianity and natural science are not in a conflicting relationship, instead, a supportive and compatible relationship to hold dialogues and provide mutual support. This study aims to help teenagers and youth members in Korean churches through church school education contents that there is a theological perspective to prove that Christianity is not in a conflicting relationship with natural science, instead, they have a compatible relationship with mutual dialogues and support.
