This paper studies to analyse determinants on volumes of firm exports in Korean ICT industry. To do so, the paper builds a panel dataset from 2008 to 2019 for 42 export destination countries, and use an extended gravity equation with a country fixed effect. Especially, the paper collects the export data by size of exporting firms in Korean ICT industry: Large conglomerates and Small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs), by using a unique dataset from IITP, an Institution which reports trade data of Korean ICT industry. As a result, Large firms are more affected by demand-side factors, such as destination country’s GDP, export prices or development index of ICT industry in the destination country, relative to SMEs. On a supply-side dimension, large firms’ exports are strongly related to the firms’ outward direct investment, while SMEs are more significantly affected by a location of Korean multinational firms’ foreign branch, which implies the subcontract-wise relationship between SMEs and the top-level Korean conglomerates.
