The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of value and committed action in the relationship between smartphone addiction and life satisfaction. For this, an online survey was conducted on 464 college students in their 20s attending four-year universities using a panel owned by a domestic research company. The collected data was analyzed with SPSS 22.0 to verify the correlation between variables, and the analysis using AMOS 22.0 confirmed the mediating effects of value and committed action in the relationship between smart-phone addiction and life satisfaction. The main results are as follows; (1) the relationship between smartphone addiction and life satisfaction was completely mediated by value; (2) the relationship between smartphone addiction and life satisfaction was completely mediated by committed action; (3) the relationship between smartphone addiction and life satisfaction was sequentially mediated by value and committed action. Through this, it was confirmed that even if the level of smartphone addiction is high, life satisfaction can increase if value and commitment behavior are performed. Based on the research results, the significance, implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
