This study aims to analyze the dimensions of the hands of women aged 20 to 69 and categorize their shapes using 3D measurement data from the 8th Korean Anthropometric Survey of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The research methodology was to analyze 37 hand-related items using the SPSS 26.0 program. Among the hand measurements of women aged 20-69, the following individual differences were analyzed: finger digit V length, finger digit II distal interphalangeal joint breadth/Index-finger breadth, distal, finger digit IV proximal interphalangeal joint breadth, finger digit IV proximal interphalangeal joint circumference, finger digit I interphalangeal joint circumference, hand thickness which is placed at 2/3 length of the palm. Three factors were extracted for hand type classification: hand-related horizontal factor, vertical palm factor, and vertical finger factor. Women aged 20-69 were categorized into four hand types: normal long fingers, normal short and thick fingers, small short and thin fingers, and short long and thin fingers. The hand-related horizontal factors were the largest for type 2 and smallest for types 3 and 4, while the palm vertical factors were the longest for types 3 and 2 and shortest for type 3. The vertical finger factors were analyzed, with type 1 being the longest and type 3 being the shortest. Looking at the distribution by age, 20s have the most Type 4, which means they have short hands with long, thin fingers, while 30s have the most Type 3, which means they have small hands with short, thin fingers. People in their 40s and 60s tend to have short and thick fingers, so as they age, their fingers get shorter and thicker than their hands. Setting a small finger circumference is necessary when targeting young people to develop golf gloves. The need to change the size system based on the finger length and finger circumference, which is manufactured based on the hand length and hand circumference, has emerged. Also, even gloves of the same length had to be subdivided into several sizes according to the shape of the fingers.
