'Gangneung Cultural Heritage Night Trip' is a local festival event that started in 2017, and the festival begins with the Gangneung Daedohobusa's parade costume. The previous studies on festival costumes examine the historical research of traditional costumes reproduced in festivals, the points of improvement in reproduction, and the function and role of festival costumes. However, there needs to be more research on the costumes of local leaders who show regional characteristics. The purpose of this study is to develop and manufacture the costumes of the prefecture and seven significant figures in 1403, when Shin Yu-Jeong (1353-1426), the head of the Gangneung Daedohobusa (江陵大都護府使), was appointed, to provide public awareness of the early Joseon period. It is to inform traditional clothing properly, contribute to the spread and popularization of traditional Hanbok, and develop it into costume cultural content in Gangneung. As for the research method to produce the clothes of Daedohobusa, the materials, and colors of the clothes and colors were selected in consideration of the characteristics of the costumes of adverbs, civil servants, military officers, scholars, and noblemen after completing the schematic drawing by referring to the excavated costume data and previous studies around the 15th century. This study developed and produced costumes for eight people, including one governor, two civil servants, two military officers, one scholar, and two noblemen. Daedohobusa's dress for the visit of a provincial governor in the early Joseon Dynasty, among male costumes excavated around the 15th century, during Shin Yu-jeong's later years, was Danryeongpo (團領袍), Jikryeonpog (直領袍), Dapho (褡護), Bangryeongui (方領衣), It is produced by referring to Cheopri(帖裏) and Yoseonchulick (腰線天翼). In Gangneung, there is a Hanbok culture of bringing a robe to the wedding ceremony, and the tradition and custom of the residents of the whole village jointly holding a ceremony for older people on New Year's Day have been handed down. It is expected that the costume of Daedohobusa, which announces the beginning of the Gangneung Cultural Heritage Night Trip, will convey the costume culture of the early Joseon Dynasty to the public in the 21st century. In addition, it will establish itself as a festival costume in the Gangneung region as a traditional cultural content representing Korea's identity and values.
