This research aims to identify trends in group counseling studies over the past 15 years through keyword network analysis. To accomplish this, 463 articles were extracted from 682 group counseling studies published in KCI-listed journals from 2008 to 2022. Centralization analysis and ego network analysis were conducted using Excel 2019 and NetMiner 4.0. The results were analyzed in three periods to examine the characteristics and trends of research over time (1st phase (2008-2012), 2nd phase (2013-2017), and 3rd phase (2018-2022). The results are as follows; firstly, over the past 15 years, keywords with the highest centrality included self-concept, adolescents, university students, interpersonal relationships, and schoolchild. Although there were slight variations in rankings across periods, these keywords consistently held high centrality in all periods, indicating their significance. Secondly, to explore period-specific features, keywords that ranked high in centrality exclusively during a particular period were identified. In the 1st phase, adaptation and interpersonal relationship-related keywords were prominent. In the 2nd phase, specific issues such as offenders, aggression were highlighted, while the 3rd phase emphasized keywords related to online/virtual settings and the experiences of group members, and of those involved in group counseling including counselor education. Finally, an ego network analysis was conducted on three selected keywords related to research topics. As a result, it was confirmed that even the same keyword could have different semantic structures depending on the time frame due to the differences in the keywords and networks connected to each keyword depending on the period. Based on the analysis results and discussions, implications for future group counseling research were provided.
