MSLQ(The Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire)로 사용하고 있는 내재적, 외재적 목표지향성과 학습전략의 사용 정도를 알아보고자 하였다.
This study aims to investigate the degree of intrinsic and extrinsic goal orientation and the use of learning strategies used by Korean university students with The motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire(MSLQ). A total of 81 students taking liberal arts English courses participated in survey including a total 45 items. The degree of intrinsic and extrinsic goal orientation were analyzed by descriptive statistics. A t-test was conducted to see the level of the extent of the three things previously mentioned. The result showed that Korean students possess somewhat higher level of them. Additionally, a correlation analysis was conducted to find out the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic goal orientation and the use of learning strategies. According to the results, the students' intrinsic and extrinsic goal orientation is related to learning strategies such as rehearsal, elaboration, organization, critical thinking, and metacognitive self-regulation. The limitations of the study are that the data results were obtained from students at a university. Nevertheless, the results of the study pedagogially suggest that the use of motivation and learning strategies is important for instructors and students.
