The purpose of this study is to establish Korean national qualification system for cabin crews to maintain reasonably high safety and service levels in aircraft and develop advanced in-flight service models. This study aims to establish a sustainable in-flight service manpower supply demand system. To achieve that goal, I reviewed the necessity of in-flight service manager(ISM), the operation and utilization of the qualification system. The research results are as follows. First, Korean national qualifications for cabin crew are necessary to secure standardized safety management personnel and reasonable high quality cabin crew. Second, ISM-qualification must develop examination subjects using a systematic certification management and be operated according to Korean national qualification operation method. Third, the ISM-qualification can be used to strengthen the job performance ability for cabin crew related department graduates and to export advanced Korea's cabin crew education program and ISM-qualification to foreign countries. This is to secure a close cooperation system between the supply of manpower from universities in the in-flight service industry and the demand from companies related to university education, and this can be said to be an example of mutual development between universities and related companies in Korea.
