The purpose of this study was to operate an constructivism career group program for the pre-service secondary education teachers and examine its effects on their career maturity and identity. The subjects consisted of 188 pre-service secondary education teachers who were divided into the test group (n=59), comparative group (n=65) and control group (n=65). In order to verify the effectiveness of the program, one-way ANOVA and ANCOVA were conducted and introspection logs were analyzed. The test group were participated in the ISI career program after conducting pre- and post-test and job preference test. For the comparative group, the pre- and post-test and a job preference test were conducted but the ISI program was not conducted. The control group underwent the pre- and post-test only. As a result of this study, the test group scored significantly higher points than the comparative group and the control group in terms of the overall career identity and its sub-factors such as understanding of the job information and confidence. Moreover, the test group scored significantly higher points at post-test than comparative and control group in terms of oveall career maturity and its sub-factors such as determination, confidence, independence and preparedness.
