본 연구는 중등연령 학교 밖 청소년의 사회성 향상을 위한 프로그램을 개발하고 효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 문헌연구 및 중등연령 학교 밖 청소년, 보호자, 현장 전문가를 대상으로 면접조사를 실시하였고 중등연령 학교 밖 청소년에게 설문조사하여 273부를 최종분석하였다. 분석결과, 중등연령 학교 밖 청소년 프로그램에 요구되는 7개의 중요한 사회성 요인을 추출하였고, 이를 토대로 사회성 척도를 구성하였다. 요구조사 결과를 프로그램 내용과 방법 등에 반영하여 대면과 비대면 프로그램으로 개발하고, 효과성을 검증하기 위해 대면집단, 비대면집단, 통제집단으로 구성하여 시범운영 하였으며 구성된 집단에 사전‧사후‧추후검사를 실시하였다. 검증 결과, 대면집단과 비대면집단 모두 프로그램의 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 대면집단의 효과가 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 중심으로 연구의 의의와 제언을 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to develop a program to improve the social skills of middle school-aged, out-of-school adolescents and to examine the effectiveness of the program. To this end, first, an extensive literature reviews and interviews with out-of-school youths, their guardians, and field experts were conducted to develop a scale that measures adolescents’level of sociality and that further can be used to validate the developed program. Then, a survey was conducted with out-of-school youths, and data from 273 participants were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, seven important social factors required for social skills improvement programs for out-of-school youths were extracted, and a sociality scale was constructed according to these factors Also, based on the demand survey of participants, a social skills improvement program was developed that could be run in person or a face-to-face. In order to examine the effectiveness of the program, participants were divided into a face-to-face group, a person group, or a control group, and pre-, post-, and follow-up tests were conducted with these groups. Results indicated that the program was effective with both the face-to-face and in-person groups, demonstrating a greater effect with the face-to-face group. Based on the results, the significance of the study and practical suggestions were discussed.
