In Seoul, South Korea, affordable housing is lacking and in order to solve housing problems, social housing has been implemented. The aim of this study is to review the space of social housing in Seoul and European countries. This study used reports from Korean and European government, academic papers, and newspapers. The spatial analysis criteria included the building orientation, the function of balcony, and community spaces. The findings of this study were as followed. First, the both of social housings in Seoul and Europe maximized space efficiency, indicating that the building orientation was not stick to the south facing or east oriented arrangement. Second, social housing in Seoul has community rooms but social housing in Europe do not have community spaces. Third, there are differences in balcony extension and use between social housing in Seoul and social housing in Europe.
