본 연구는 주의회복을 느끼는 농촌관광 체험만족이 가족기능에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 가족과 함께 농촌관광을 체험한 가족단위 관광객을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 총 203부의 유효 표본을 대상으로 분석을 실시하였으며, SPSS 24.0과 AMOS 24.0통계 패키지 프로그램을 활용하여 기술통계 분석, 신뢰도분석, 확인적 요인분석, 타당성분석, 구조방정식 모형분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과 및 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주의회복은 가족의사소통과 농촌관광 체험만족에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 통해 가족이 대화하는 장소에 대한 중요성을 시사할 수 있는데, 가족이 소통하는 장소가 주의회복을 일으키는 농촌 환경일 때 가족의사소통의 수준이 달라 질 수 있음을 의미한다. 둘째, 농촌관광 체험만족은 가족의사소통에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 결과로 나타났다. 농촌관광에서 느끼는 정서적 감정이 가족 전체에 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 본 연구의 결과는 가족체계이론을 바탕으로 가족을 하나의 유기체적 관계로 본 문헌적 근거의 연구 결과를 지지한다는 점에서 외적 타당성을 갖는다. 셋째, 가족의사소통은 가족적응에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 Olson의 복합순환모델을 근거하여 가족기능을 설명할 수 있다. 본 연구는 기존 가족관광 연구에서 이루어지지 않았던 가족적응에 대한 연구를 진행하여 이를 관광학 영역으로 탐구함으로써 이론적 범위를 확대하는데에 학술적 의의가 있다. 또한 농촌관광 체험만족은 가족의사소통에 유의한 영향을 미치지만 가족적응에는 유의한 영향이 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 농촌관광 체험만족은 가족의사소통을 완전 매개하여 가족적응에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 가족적응의 특성이 가족의사소통보다 장기적이고 지속적인 변수이기 때문이라 설명할 수 있다.
