이 글은 생태철학적 관점에 근거한 패러다임의 전환을 통해 한국에서의 지역생태공동체의 새로운 모델을 검토하는 것에 목적을 둔다. 생태적 삶이란 우리가 오래전부터 알고 있는 그 ‘자연’으로의 회귀를 의미하지는 않는다. 그것은 일상의 회복이다. 다만 누구의 ‘일상’인가 하는 것이 문제가 되겠다. 이때 우리의 일상은 인간을 주체로 하고 비인간을 주변에 두는 인간중심주의적 태도에서 벗어난다. 그렇지 않은 한에서 일상은 폭력일 수밖에 없다. 그래서 우리는 생태의 의미를 재고할 것이며, 동시에 생태공동체가 더 이상 전통적인 생태마을에 머물지 않음을 확인할 것이다. 생태는 유기체간의 관계를 넘어 무기체와의 연결마저도 고려되어야 한다. 우리는 순수자연, 혹은 객관화된 몸이라는 근대적 개념 대신 기술화된 자연, 기술화된 몸으로 살아가는 디지털 시대의 생태공동체를 말하려는 것이다. 이 논의는 생태철학적 관점에서 새로운 패러다임을 구상할 것이며, 이를 바탕으로 생태공동체의 사례와 한계들을 검토할 것이며 마지막으로 새로운 패러다임으로서의 생태패러다임에로의 전환을 통해 한국의 지역생태공동체의 새로운 가능성을 점검할 것이다. 특히 우리는 전통적 의미에서의 생태공동체가 아닌 도시공동체로서의 스마트생태도시를 주목할 것이다.

The purpose of this article is to review a new model of local eco-community in Korea through a paradigm shift based on the perspective of ecological philosophy. Ecological life does not mean a return to the ‘nature’ we have known for a long time. It is a daily recovery. However, identifying who's ‘daily’ is a problem. Our daily life breaks away from the anthropocentric attitude that places humans as subjects as distinguished from the non-humans around us. In anthropocentrism, everyday life is bound to be violence. We will reconsider the meaning of ecology, and at the same time make sure that the eco-community no longer stays in the traditional eco-village. Ecology should consider not only the relationship between organisms, but also its connection with inorganic matter. Instead of the modern concept of pure nature or an objectified body, we are talking about an eco-community in the digital age that lives in a technological body. In this discussion, a new paradigm will be conceived from an ecological philosophical point of view, and based on this, examples and limitations of eco-communities will be reviewed. In particular, we will pay attention to the smart eco-city as an urban community, not an eco-community in the traditional sense.
