 Musical is a genre based on opera. It is mass music play which has been developed from cultures and traditions with in the forms of operetta and its similar plays. It was developed in USA and is defined as synthetic performance with audiences composing of music, especially instrumental and songs, dramatic acting, dynamic choregraphy and stage mechanism. Since the late 19th Century, it has been mainly developed from USA and UK and in the 20th Century it became to have diversity reflecting features of contemporary culture with social changes and massification of culture and art. Compared to history of opera, that of musical has just over one hundred years. However, its predecessor can be traced back to the 10th Century. Musical and opera are similar in their characteristic of comprehensive arts. While opera is a music play for classic music, musical is that for popular music. The forms of musical depend on plots include musical comedy, musical farce, musical satire and musical fantasy. It consists of scenario, music, lyrics, choregraphy and direction and according to them, there are more categories and a piece is made.

Currently musical have continued to develop in accordance with cultural desire of people since its beginning. It should be pursued with the direction and request of the time.
