BIM(Building Information Modeling; 이하 BIM)은 프로젝트 생애주기에 걸쳐 3D 객체기반의 모델과 연계된 프로젝트 정보를 프로젝트 참여자간 관리/교환/공유하는 기술을 총칭하는 것으로 3D 개념의 모델링은 물론이고 설계대안 평가, 설계 오류, 누락, 시공성 등의 설계검토, 에너지 효율성과 지속가능성 향상, 물량산출 및 견적, 공정관리, 유지관리 등 건설 프로젝트의 모든 단계에 걸쳐 매우 다양한 업무의 패러다임을 획기적으로 바꾸어 놓을 기술로써, 선택이 아닌 필수의 개념으로 정착될 것으로 예상된다. 이에 미국과 유럽의 건설 선진국을 중심으로 국제 건설 시장에 있어 BIM의 비중은 더욱 커질 것으로 예상되며, 국내 시장 또한 BIM 도입에 대한 관심도와 투자의 증가, 발주자의 BIM 적용 의무화 등으로 인해, BIM의 도입을 피할 수 없는 추세이다. 이와 같이 BIM을 쓸 수밖에 없는 상황에서 건설조직은 자신의 조직에 적합하게 BIM을 수용하여 BIM의 성공적인 활용목적을 달성해야 한다.
하지만 국내 건설조직은 BIM을 도입을 위한 체계적인 전략수립을 기반으로 BIM을 도입하기 보다는 아직까지 현장단위에서 보여주기 식의 BIM 활용이 대부분임에 따라 BIM 도입률은 높지만 BIM 사용자의 숙련도는 낮은 편이며 BIM 활용을 중도 포기하는 사용자의 비율은 높은 편이다. 이러한 원인은 BIM 활용에 필요한 요소들에 대해 조직이 준비가 되지 않은 상태에서 BIM을 도입되었기 때문이며 이로 인해 단기적으로 도입률을 높이고 성과를 낼 수 있지만 BIM이 가지는 기대효과를 얻는데 한계가 있고 이로 인해 BIM의 사용에 대한 신뢰도가 낮아져 사용이 지속되지 못한 것으로 판단된다.
이를 위해서는 체계적인 건설조직의 BIM의 성공적인 도입전략 수립을 위해서는 조직이 BIM을 도입하는데 어떤 요소가 필요한지 파악하고 이들이 얼마큼 준비되었는지에 대한 평가가 선행되어야 한다. 한편 BIM 도입은 조직변화를 요구하며 조직변화는 조직 안에 보이지 않지만 공통적으로 받아들여지는 조직문화에 의해 영향을 받게 되므로 조직문화를 고려하여 BIM 도입전략이 수립되어야만 투자의 효율성과 효과성을 모두 얻을 수 있을 것이다.
따라서 본 연구에서는 기술수용이론, 조직문화이론에 대한 이론적 고찰을 통해 조직문화를 고려한 BIM 수용준비도 평가모델을 개발하는 것이 주요 목적이다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 BIM 수용준비도 평가모델은 1) BIM 수용준비도 항목, 2) 조직문화 가중치, 3) BIM 수용준비도 종합점수 산정식, 4) BIM 수용준비도 판정기준으로 구성되었으며, 각 구성요소를 개발하기 위한 이론적 모델을 설계하고 이에 대해 실증적으로 검증하였다. 실증적 검증을 위해 실제 BIM 사용자인 건설사업 참여주체(CM, 설계사, 시공사, 엔지니어링)를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료들을 통계프로그램인 SPSS 17.0를 활용하여 분석하였다. 실증적으로 검증된 구성요소의 조합으로 개발된 BIM 수용준비도 평가모델의 활용방안을 제시하고 활용성을 검증하기 위해 국내 건설조직을 대상으로 사례연구를 실시하였다.
본 연구에서 제안하는 BIM 수용준비도 평가모델을 통해 BIM 수용준비도 평가의 필요성에 대한 인식을 높일 수 있을 것이며 체계적인 건설조직의 BIM 도입전략 수립을 지원하기 위한 평가모델을 제안하였다는 것에 의의를 가진다.| 번호 | 참고문헌 | 국회도서관 소장유무 |
