The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the psychological factors of dance majors on their dance performance in an effort to shed light on psychological factors for successful dance performance at this point of time where dance studies has just focused on physical aspects. To be specific, it's meant to analyze how self-enhancement bias and emotional leadership affected dance attention·achievement·confidence, whether there were any differences according to demographic characteristics(academic credential, major and career), and whether the variables of dance attention/dance achievement had any mediating effects when self-enhancement bias and emotional leadership impacted on dance attention·achievement·confidence. A survey was conducted on the dance majors in arts high schools and colleges across the nation for approximately two months, and the data from 803 respondents were used in this study. As for data analysis, SPSS program was employed to make a frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The findings of the study were as follows:
first, self-enhancement bias, which is to perceive oneself overly positively and overestimate one's own influence and control due to unrealistic thinking, didn't have any significant impact on dance attention, achievement and confidence, whereas emotional leadership, which is to make an accurate evaluation of one's own emotions and influence, to try to find successful factors in the members and to lead them with a realistic way of thinking, exerted a positive influence on all the dance attention, dance achievement and dance confidence. Second, concerning the impact of self-enhancement bias and emotional leadership on dance attention·achievement·confidence according to the demographic characteristics(academic credential, major, career), there were differences in dance attention according to academic credential and career, in dance achievement according to major and career, and in dance confidence according to major. Third, dance attention had partial mediating effects on the relationships of emotional leadership to dance attention, dance achievement and dance confidence, but dance achievement didn't produced any mediating effects. Given the limitations of the study, It's suggested that research efforts should be directed into the development and application of emotional programs geared toward dance majors, into self-enhancement bias by major, into professional dance organizations, and into an analysis of detailed factors.
At this point of time where dance studies has focused on physical aspects, this study is of utility value in that it provided some information on the establishment of a theoretical rationale for the efficiency of dance performance in conjunction with theories of psychology, and this study also is expected to be useful for figuring out the relationships between various psychological variables and dance performance and for understanding the roles of antecedent variables that exert positive influences.*표시는 필수 입력사항입니다.
