This paper is a comparative analysis of spoken Korean 'Woay' and 'Zen me' for Chinese learners who studying Korean. To help them get well comprehension between these two words and lead them to communicate naturally with each other. In addition, I hope this article can become a more easily understand oral materials for language teachers in Korea or China, and can also be used as reference materials in daily life. Also can promote more effective communication significance both from the field of Korean education and communication in the future.
First of all, in the first chapter, I confirm the purpose and necessity of the study on Korean 'Woay' and Chinese 'Zen me' and explore the first study of interrogative words and discourse markers 'Zen me'. The results show that there are many researches on the function of Chinese and Korean language in the study of Korean pedagogy, but the comparative study of 'Woay' and 'Zen me' is not complete and needs further improvement. After the discussion of prior study, according to the prior study materials, I selected two popular drama scripts from Korea and China.
Therefore I propose the function and usage of Korean 'Woay' and Chinese 'Zen me' in Chapter 2. Firstly, the system of interrogative sentences and interrogative words in Korea and China is put forward, and then the interrogative words in Korea and China are compared. After that we can find out the use of interrogative and non-suspicious sentences with 'Zen me' as interrogative words and discourse marker.
I raised example through spoken materials to investigate character and general history of interrogative words 'Woay' and 'Zen me' in Chapter 3. First, 'Woay' as a interrogative word is an interrogative adverb and an interjection instead 'Zen me' is interrogative pronoun. However, in the actual conversation, it is found that interrogative adverbs and interjections also play a role. Second, from the general history level, the distribution of 'Woay' in sentences is very free, and because of the fixed word order of 'Zen me', the distribution position is limited.
Chapter 4 deals with the field of meaning and language. From the point of view, the direct and indirect language behavior of the interrogative words 'Woay' and 'Zen me' are analyzed with examples, from the perspective of language behavior, discourse markers also analyze the interrogative expressions and discourse markers of 'Woay' and 'Zen me' with examples. Especially in terms of meaning, the situation 'Woay' and 'Zen me' conduct direct speech act, according to whether there is an auxiliary word in the conversation, the meaning will change. For indirect speech act, it can be seen from the negative passage that 'Woay' and 'Zen me' can all be used. From the point of linguistic, to conclude the characteristic of expressing the reason and the negative attitude simply as interrogative words. As can be seen from the reinforcement of discourse markers, 'Woay' and 'Zen me' have the function of starting and changing the topic, in which 'Woay' also includes the function of focus and strive for time.
Finally, I summarize what I discussed above in chapter 5. On the other hand, I'll do more concrete research from the meaning level later. In addition, it is a limitation that I didn't find more expressions of various spoken materials. I will continue the follow-up study.*표시는 필수 입력사항입니다.
