최근 청소년의 비행은 일탈적인 한 개인의 문제가 아니라 심각한 사회적 문제로 인식되고 있다. 이러한 청소년 비행의 원인은 다양하지만, 이 연구에서는 청소년기에 경험할 수 있는 직·간접적인 폭력피해에 초점을 두었으며, 청소년 시기의 폭력 경험을 Agnew가 주장한 일반긴장이론에 근거하여 청소년 비행에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 검증하고자 하였다. 따라서 청소년들이 경험한 폭력이부정적 감정인 불안을 매개로 청소년 비행에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 했다. 분석결과 청소년 시기에 직·간접적으로 폭력을 경험하면 할수록 비행을 할 가능성이 높게 나타났고, 특히 직접적으로 폭력을 경험한 청소년들에게는불안현상이 높게 나타났으며, 불안을 해소하기 위해 비행을 선택하는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구에서는 청소년 시기의 폭력경험이 불안을 매개로 청소년 비행에어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위해 Baron & Kenny(1986)가 제시한 4단계회귀분석 기법을 이용하였다. 그 결과 청소년들의 직·간접적인 폭력경험은 지위비행과 폭력비행에 미치는 영향관계에서 불안이 매개역할을 했으나, 재산비행에서는 불안이 매개역할을 하지 못했다. 이처럼 폭력 피해를 경험하면 불안수준이 증가하고, 불안한 상태가 지속된 청소년들은 불안을 해소하기 위해 지위비행이나 폭력비행과 같은 행동을 유발함을 알 수 있었다 이러한 연구결과를 토대로폭력을 경험한 청소년들에게 불안을 해소시켜주는 것이 지위비행과 폭력비행을최소화할 수 있는 방안이 될 것이라고 주장한다.

Teenagers' violence is recently regarded as a serious social problem,not a deviant individual's personal problem. Thus, this study focused on any violence experience during adolescence and aimed to test it according to the general strain theory proposed by Agnew. So, this study intended to examine the relationship between adolescents with violence experience and juvenile delinquency, to explore the mediating effect of a negative emotion,depression. According to results of our analysis, an adolescent was likely to commit juvenile delinquency, when he or she had direct and indirect violence experience during adolescence. In particular, it was demonstrated that adolescents with direct violence experience had a high degree of depression, and that they chose juvenile delinquency in order to get rid of their depression. Moreover, to investigate the impact of violence experience during adolescence on juvenile delinquency with depression as a mediator, the 4-step regression method proposed by Baron &Kenny(1986) was used. And, it was revealed that, in case of adolescents who experienced direct and indirect violence, depression played the role of a complete mediator in the impact of violence experience on status and violence juvenile delinquency. On the other hand, in the impact of violence experience during adolescence on property juvenile delinquency,depression did not play the role of a mediator. Therefore, it has been shown that when adolescents experience violence, their depression level increases, which leads adolescents with a higher degree of depression to commit status or violence juvenile delinquency in order to express their emotion outwardly. Based on the result of this study, the researchers of the present study propose that removing depression of adolescents with violence experience would be a solution to minimize status and violence juvenile delinquency.
