Drinking of oxygenated water(i.e. water with increased concentration of physically dissolved oxygen) is said to improve oxygen availability of the body. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of oxygenated water drinking before and after maximal exercise on the fatigue parameters(lactic acid, ammonia, cortisol) and performance parameters(all-out time, VO₂max, %sbO₂, HRR 1min; heart rate recovery 1min). Fifteen female handball players participated in this study(oxygenated drinking group=15, placebo drinking group=15). Maximal exercise was performed on a treadmill using KSSI protocol. This study was designed as a double blind crossover method experiments. Each subject was drink 500ml of highly oxygenated water and placebo water(30 minutes before maximal exercise, immediately after exercise). The data were analyzed by repeated ANONA and independent t-test.
The following results were obtained from this study ; The level of lactate(p<.01), ammonia(p<.01) and cortisol(p<.01) were significantly lower in oxygenate water group than in placebo group immediately after exercise and recovery 30 minutes. Also, all-out time(p<.05), VO₂max(p<.05) and %sbO₂(p<.05) were significantly higher in oxygenate water group than in placebo group immediately after exercise. But, heart rate recovery 1min was significantly lower in oxygenated water group than in placebo group after immediately exercise. In conclusion, the data from this study reveal that oxygenated water drinking before and after maximal exercise is an effective method to improve performance and promote the recovery from fatigue.| 번호 | 참고문헌 | 국회도서관 소장유무 |
