This study was performed to examine the studies of the effect of 24 weeks combined training on
muscle strength, energy substrates, inflammatory factors in the elderly. This subjects of study were consisted of
twenty-nine elderly were over 65 years old. The combined training included resistant exercise, aerobics and
balancing exercise using an air-board, and performed 60 min a day, 2 times a week for 24 weeks. All data
were analyzed by paired t-test and administered before and after a 24 weeks combined training. Blood sample
was obtained for energy substrates, CRP and TNF-α analysis before and after the 24 weeks combined training.
The results were as follows; 1) TC, TG, LDL-C were significantly decreased after training and HDL-C, Glucose
was increased. 2) CRP had decreased significant difference 3) TNF-α was decreased after training 4) Grip
strength was increased after training. Therefore, these results suggest that a combined training has beneficial
effects in terms of protecting against cardiovascular risk and inflammatory factors by controlling lipid profiles,
