본 연구는 메이커 운동의 확산으로 증가하고 있는 메이커 스페이스의 효과적인 운영 및 내실화를 위한 서비스 디자인의 가이드라인을 제시하여 활용될 수 있도록 하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법 첫째, 메이커 스페이스의 정의 및 현황 등에 관해 문헌 조사 및 선행 연구를 조사한다. 둘째, 정성조사 방법으로 메이커 스페이스 서비스에 대한 비디오 에스노그라피, 참여관찰 및 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 셋째, 조사한 내용을 분석하여 메이커 스페이스에 대한 퍼소나, 블루프린트 등의 가이드라인을 제시한다. 연구결과 메이커 스페이스를 일반랩과 전문랩으로 분류하고, 메이커 스페이스에서 나타나는 4가지 형태의 퍼소나를 도출하고 체계화를 위한 블루프린트를 구축하여 설계　및 운영에 대한 가이드라인을 제시한다. 본 연구에서 제시한 서비스 디자인의 퍼소나와 블루프린트는 기존 메이커 스페이스의 서비스 개선과 신규 메이커 스페이스의 설계, 콘텐츠 구성 및 운영의 내실화에 활용될 수 있는 가이드라인이 될 것이다.
