이 연구는 인공지능의 발달과 함께 논의되고 있는 포스트휴머니즘(post-humanism)의 관점을 탐색하고 이를 바탕으로 문학교육의 방향을 제안하는 데 목적이 있다. 포스트휴머니즘은 과학기술의 발달로 등장하게 된 새로운 인간 주체에 대한 담론으로서 과학기술과 인문학이 통섭 속에 구성되고 있는 하나의 패러다임이다. 과학기술과 인문학 두 범주 모두 이성중심의 인본주의의 한계를 인지하고 이를 극복하려고 한다는 점, 인간의 능력을 이루는 육체와 정신의 확장을 추구한다는 점, 인간의 정체성은 혼종적이고 유동적이며 중층적이라는 점에서 공통점이 있다. 그러나 인간의 신체를 정보를 담는 그릇과 같이 보는 관점은 역사 속에서 살아가는 심미적 인간을 회복해야 하는 과제로 볼 수 있다. 따라서 문학교육이 고도의 기술문명 앞에 무력해진 근대적 인간을 폐기하기보다는 사회의 질적 변화에 상응하는 인본주의의 갱신을 도울 수 있는 역할을 담당해야 한다.

이를 위한 문학교육의 방향을 ‘문학을 통한 교육’, ‘문학을 위한 교육’, ‘문학의 교육’ 차원에서 쟁점을 중심으로 고찰하고자 하였다. 먼저 문학을 활용하여 포스트휴머니즘에 대한 감수성을 길러 줄 수 있는 교육이 필요하다. 포스트휴먼을 다루는 공상과학소설을 적극적으로 활용하고, 함께 소통하는 과정을 통해 학생들을 ‘분별력있는 관찰자’로 성장시킬 필요가 있다. 둘째, 혼종적으로 경계를 허무는 포스트휴머니즘 시대에 맞는 문학적 파상력을 다룰 필요가 있다. 이는 문학의 내용뿐만 아니라 장르의 통합과 창조적 구성을 추인할 수 있을 것이다. 마지막으로 타자와의 관계 속에서 감각을 복원하고 시공간에 대한 인식을 강화하기 위해 토포필리아를 가꾸어야 함을 제안했다. 이러한 방향은 포스트휴머니즘 시대에 인간과 기계, 실재와 가상, 자아와 타자에 대해 새로운 인식을 가져야 하는 미래 세대를 위한 문학의 가교적 역할이기도 하다.

This study aims to explore the perspective of post-humanism, which is being discussed with the development of artificial intelligence, and to propose the direction of literature education based on it. Posthumanism is a paradigm in which science and technology and humanities are composed in a common sense as a discourse on new human subjects that emerged with the development of science and technology. Both categories of science and technology and humanities have something in common in that they recognize and try to overcome the limitations of rational humanism, pursue the expansion of the body and spirit that achieve human abilities, and human identity is hybrid, fluid, and middle-class. However, the view of the human body as a vessel containing information can be seen as a task to restore aesthetic human beings living in history. Therefore, literature education should play a role in helping renewal of humanism corresponding to changes in the quality of society, rather than discarding modern humans who have been incapacitated in the face of highly technical civilization.

To this end, the direction of the education of literature is to be considered as an issue in terms of education through literature, education for literature, and education for literature. First of all, education is needed to develop sensitivity to posthumanism by using literature. It is necessary toactively utilize science fiction novels dealing with posthumans and to grow students into "ideal observers" through the process of communicating together. Second, it is necessary to deal with literary tetanus in the era of posthumanism, which breaks boundaries in a hybrid way. This will allow for the recognition of genre integration and creative composition as well as the content of literature. Finally, we suggest that topophilia should be nurtured to restore the senses and enhance awareness of space and space in relationships with others. This direction is also the bridge of literature for future generations who must have new perceptions of humans and machines, real and virtual, self and type in the posthumanistic era.
