부산대학교 박물관 소장 훈몽자회 책판은 조선 중종 때의 역관인 최세진이 저술한 〈훈몽자회〉를 목판에 새긴 것으로, 인, 상, 중, 하 총 52점으로 구성되었다. 위 책판은 충해로 인해 목질부 손상이 다수 발생한 것이 확인되어 보존처리를 진행하였다. 보존처리에 앞서 유물 내외부 상태조사를 위해 X-ray를 촬영한 결과, 책판 표면과 내부에서 가해 해충의 충공으로 추정되는 흔적이 다수 관찰되었다. 또한, 책판 제작에 사용된 수종 확인을 위한 수종분석 결과 52점 모두 단풍나무속으로 확인되었다. 처리 전 조사 이후 훈몽자회 책판의 디지털 기록화 및 정밀실측을 위해 3D scan을 진행하였으며 그 결과 크기가 다양한 결구별 마구리를 제작할 수 있었다. 책판의 보존처리는 세척-강화처리-마구리 제작 및 결합 순으로 진행하였으며 위 보존처리 방법을 적용한 결과 충해로 인해 열화되어 박락이 발생하는 목질부를 안정적으로 보존처리할 수 있었다.
