Dong, Lei & Sun, Yingchen. 2023. A Study on Teaching Adverbial Particles ‘-e’ and ‘-eseo’ for Chinese Learners of Korean. Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, 71. 23-49. This study aims to provide a customized method to educate Chinese Learners of Korean on Korean adverbial particles. We selected ‘-e’ and ‘-eseo’ as the subject of this study because the substitution errors between ‘-e’ and ‘-eseo’ is highest among the grammatical fallacies of Chinese learners in using Korean adverbial particles. Then we analyzed how the ‘-e’ and ‘-eseo’ corresponded in Chinese expressions by arranging their meanings based on the translated works from Korean novels titled the ‘Kim Ji-young, Born 1982’ and ‘My Palpitating Life’. After that, we could estimate the cause of the errors in the influence of the mother tongue. Finally, we designed a PTT model to teach ‘-e’ and ‘-eseo’ by considering factors such as linguistic characteristics and learners’ language acquisition abilities. Learners’ reaction to this method was highly positive because they showed confidence in language acquisition.
