본 논문은 아프리카 전문인 선교에 대한 지속 가능성과 그 방안에 관한 연구에 목적을 두었다. 전문인 선교는 종종 텐트메이커 선교, 혹은 자비량 선교라고 불리며, 사실 이 말은 사도행전 18장 3절에 나타난 바울의 장막을 지어 만든 직업에서 나온 말이다. 당시 복음을 전하는 사도였지만 바울은 장막을 만드는 직업을 가지고 사역하였다. 이처럼 자신의 전문적인 직업을 가지고 선교 사역에 종사하는 전문인 선교는 현대 선교에 있어서 가장 효과적인 선교전략으로 대두되고 있다. 이러한 관점에서 선교 실천 현장에서의 아프리카 전문인 선교는 21세기 주요한 선교전략이 될 것이다. 전 세계에 파송한 수많은 선교사의 집중 사역으로 한국교회는 주로 교회 개척, 복지 선교, 캠퍼스 선교, 교육 선교, 의료선교, 어린이와 청소년 선교 등이 주류다. 전문인 선교에 대해서 여전히 오해하고 있겠지만 오늘날 전통적인 선교에서 전문인 선교를 지지하는 선교 신학적 이론의 근거를 통해서 상당한 발전이 이루어졌다고 본다.

21세기 선교의 대안으로 등장한 전문인 선교는 국제적인 선교단체뿐만 아니라 로잔선교대회, 그리고 한국교회 특히 선교학계에서도 최근 활발하게 연구되는 주제 가운데 하나이며, 그 관심의 대상이 되었다. 이에 따른 아프리카에 대한 간략한 전 이해를 통해서 인식적 차원과 역사적 차원, 그리고 선교적 차원을 고찰하였다. 무엇보다 신구약 성경에서 나타난 전문인 선교와 바울에서 나타난 전문인 선교, 그리고 교회사에서 나타난 전문인 선교와 내한 선교사에서 나타난 전문인 선교를 언급함으로써 아프리카 전문인 선교의 지속 가능성에 대한 방안을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째는 로잔 운동을 통한 전문인 선교의 지속 가능성이다. 둘째는 통전적 선교를 통한 전문인 선교의 지속 가능성이다. 마지막으로, 셋째는 한국교회를 통한 평신도 전문인 선교의 지속 가능성을 제시하였다.

전문인 선교의 황금어장으로 불리는 아프리카 대륙은 하나님 나라의 가치와 복음의 능력을 가장 가까이에서 지켜볼 수 있는 곳이다. 그들의 다양한 상황 속에서 인종과 문화, 그리고 언어와 부족이 존재하며, 하나님 나라의 생생한 역사와 기적을 목격할 수 있는 아프리카는 하나님 선교의 최전선으로서보다 나은 미래를 위한 전문인 선교의 현장이 되어야 할 것이다. 이를 통해 아프리카선교의 선교 현장에서 전문인 선교를 실천하는 선교사와 선교 전문가들에게, 그리고 한국교회가 신학의 갈등 없는 사역할 수 있게 되기를 소망해 본다.

The purpose of this paper is to study sustainable measures for African professional missions. Professional missions are often called tentmaker missions, or merciful missions, and in fact, this word comes from the occupation created by Paul's tent in Acts 18:3. At that time, he was an apostle who delivered the gospel, but Paul served with a job making a tent. As such, professional missions with their own professional jobs and engaged in missionary work are emerging as the most effective mission strategy for modern missions. From this point of view, African professional missions in the field of mission practice will be a major mission strategy in the 21st century. With the concentrated ministries of numerous missionaries sent around the world, Korean churches are mainly church development, welfare missions, campus missions, educational missions, medical missions, and child and youth missions. There may still be a misunderstanding of professional missions, but I think considerable development has been made through the basis of the missionary theological theory that supports professional missions in traditional missions today.

As an alternative to missionary work in the 21st century, professional missionary work, which has emerged as an alternative to missionary work in the 21st century, is one of the topics that have recently been actively studied not only in international missionary organizations but also in the Lausanne Convention, and Korean churches in particular, and has become the subject of its interest. Accordingly, the cognitive, historical, and missionary dimensions were examined through a brief full understanding of Africa. Above all, by referring to the professional missionary work that emerged from the Old and Old Bible, the professional missionary work that emerged from Paul, and the professional missionary work that emerged from church history, the plan for the sustainability of African professional missionary work was presented as follows. The first is the sustainability of professional missionary work through the Lausanne movement. The second is the sustainability of professional missionary work through universal missionary work. Finally, the third suggested the sustainability of missionary work for lay people through Korean churches.

The African continent, called the golden fishing ground for professional missionary work, is the closest place to see the value of the kingdom of God and the ability of the gospel. In their various situations, race, culture, language, and tribe exist, and Africa, where we can witness the vivid history and miracles of the kingdom of God, should be the site of professional missionary work for a better future as the front line of God's mission. Through this, I hope that missionaries and missionary experts who practice professional missionary work at the mission site of African missionary work, and the Korean church will be able to serve without conflict of theology.
