교육과 학습이 최고의 높이에 도달하는 전 과정에서 요구되는 필수 요건이 글쓰기다. 글쓰기 능력이 곧 사고하는 능력이기 때문이다. 우리의 생각과 의견을 통합적으로 성찰하고 표현할 수 있는 능력은 우리가 속한 사회와의 적극적 의사소통을 위해 요구되는 기본 자질이다. 대학인은 다양한 텍스트를 분석하고 문제에 대한 해결책을 글로 정리함으로써 대학에서의 학습 활동에 수반되는 비판적인 글쓰기 능력을 기른다. 글쓰기는 낱말 하나하나를 선택하는 과정에서부터 글쓴이의 삶의 가치가 반영되는 정체성 찾기의 과정이다. 문장 하나하나가 자신만의 정체성을 형성하고 자신의 세계를 만들어 가는 훈련이다. 이제 글쓰기는 고급 지식과 권력을 가진 일부 전문가의 독점물이 아니라 사람들의 일상적인 활동이 되었다. 그동안 수동적인 독자의 역할에 머물던 보통사람들이 글쓰기의 주체로 등장했고 정치/사회적인 이슈만 아니라 개인적인 관심사나 경험담 등을 다룬 의미 있는 글을 사이버 공간을 통해서 활발하게 공유하고 다시 인쇄 매체를 통해서 재생산한다. 글쓴이는 새롭게 관련 분야의 지식 생산자가 된다.

본 논문에서는 올바른 글쓰기의 방향을 살펴보고, 세한대학교의 효율적인 글쓰기 교육에 필요한 실천적 제언을 모색한다.
