본 연구는 주체적ㆍ자율적 활동을 할 수 있는 전문 무용가 양성을 위해 즉흥무용수업이 주는 이점들에 대한 이론과 실제적인 효과들의 필수 요소로써 토론과 비평훈련 그리고 교육자의 촉진적 역할이 중요하다고 보았다. 따라서 현재 한국의 즉흥무용 위상을 살펴보고 창의성 배양을 위한 열린사회 개념 인식의 필요성과 비판적 합리주의 사고의 함양 그리고 1960년대 미국에서 실행되어진 즉흥수업의 학습모델과 교육자를 분석하였다. 또한 비평적 관점에서 무용은 비평과 밀접하기에 즉흥수업에서 토론과 비평훈련의 유용성을 논하였다. 본 연구의 결론으로는 교육자는 비판적 합리주의에 대한 이해가 필요하며 학생들이 주체적으로 계획하고 자신의 의견과 관점을 자유롭게 제시하도록 하는 촉진자의 역할을 해야 한다는 것이다. 또한 즉흥수업에서 토론과 비평의 환경에 자주 노출되어 직관적이면서도 논리적인 비평훈련을 통해 체계적이고 설득력 있는 예술 작업의 가능성을 많이 경험할 수 있어야 한다는 것이다. 제언으로는 즉흥무용이 공연 창작을 위해 더 많은 경험의 장이 될 수 있도록 다양한 국내ㆍ외 즉흥공연 관련 사례 연구와 공연화 실험연구가 지속적으로 이뤄져 무용교육가 양성에 긍정적인 영향을 주기를 기대한다.

This study considers discussion and critical training as essential elements of the theory and practical effects of improvisational dance classes to cultivate professional dancers. This research analyzes the necessity of recognizing the concept of an open society to cultivate creativity and critical rationalist thinking, using the improvisational class learning model and educators implemented in the United States in the 1960s. In addition, as dance is related to criticism, we review discussions and the usefulness of training for critiques in improvisation classes. In conclusion, educators need an understanding of critical rationalism and must act as a facilitator for students to plan independently and freely present their opinions and perspectives. In addition, in improvisation classes, students should be frequently exposed to an environment of discussion and criticism, so that they can experience many possible ways to create systematic and persuasive works of art through logical criticism.
