본 연구는 한국인의 첨단과학기술문화 분야에 대한 미래 선호가치를 조사하여, 이를 통해 정책 이슈를 발굴하고 첨단과학기술문화 정책 개발 및 관련 정책에 중요한 데이터를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 통합적 문헌고찰을 통해 한국인의 미래 첨단과학기술문화 분야 선호가치를 조사할 수 있는 지표를 개발하였다. 본 연구목적의 효율적인 달성을 위해 청소년과 20대의 가치관에 중점을 두기 위해 200명씩 총 400명을 확보하였으며, 30대, 40대, 50대, 60대 이상 집단별로 각각 100명씩 총 800명의 자료를 수집하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 한국인은 첨단과학기술이 삶의 질과 가치를 향상시키는 중요한 요소로 인식하고 있으며, 첨단과학기술정책의 실현 주체로서 정부의 주도적 역할을 기대하고 있었다. 또한 첨단과학기술의 활용에 대해 현재는 통제를 선호하지만, 중장기적인 관점에서는 고도화된 기술의 확산을 긍정적으로 받아들이는 경향을 보였다. 미래 과학기술 분야 혁신정책의 실현 주체로서 정부보다는 사회구성원의 수요에 따른 실현이 중요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 한국인은 첨단과학기술이 전반적인 삶의 질 향상, 경제 발전, 문화 수준 향상, 국민 건강 증진 등 다양한 측면에서 긍정적인 변화를 가져올 것으로 기대하고 있으며, 첨단과학기술의 가치와 기능에 대해 높은 기대감을 가지고 있었다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 첨단과학기술문화정책 개발에 중요한 시사점을 제공하며, 한국 사회의 전반적인 발전에 기여할 수 있는 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
