본 연구는 미취학자녀를 둔 20-49세 기혼 여성의 결혼만족도에 취업여부와 가사노동분담이 미치는 영향이 보육서비스 제도에 의해 달라지는지 분석하였다. 개인의 다양한 사회경제적 역할수행을 위한 역량과 만족도와의 관계 그리고 사회정책의 영향에 대한 이론적 논의를 바탕으로 여성가족패널조사 2차(2008년)와 6차(2016년)를 분석한 결과 2008년도에는 유급노동이나 가사노동을 통한 역할 수행과 보육서비스제도는 여성의 결혼만족도와 관련 없었다. 반면 2016년도에는 취업이나 가사노동 수행 모두 결혼만족도와 직접적인 영향관계에 있었고 보육서비스 이용 여부에 따라 취업여부와 가사노동분담이 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향이 달라졌다. 구체적으로 미취업이면서 서비스를 이용한 여성에 비해 취업하고 서비스를 이용한 여성의 결혼만족도가 낮았다. 가사노동분담을 80% 이상 수행하는 여성 중 보육서비스를 이용한 여성의 결혼만족도는 제도를 이용하지 않은 여성의 결혼만족도에 비해 낮았다. 다른 관련 요인에는 여성의 교육수준(2008년, 2016년), 남편의 일자리 여부(2008년), 남편과의 관계 만족도(2008년, 2016년), 남편의 가사노동 분담 만족도(2008년), 여성의 일에 대한 남편의 인식(2016년), 가구소득(2008년)이 있다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 정책 함의를 논의하였다.
