The purpose of this study was to develop a scale for the structural dimensions and sub-elements of smart tourism in the restaurant industry through a scientific and systematic process and method. To develop the scale, both qualitative and quantitative research methods were considered. Focus Group Interview(FGI) and expert opinion surveys were conducted based on 5-dimensional 28 items derived by using Nvivo's cluster analysis of a large amount of data obtained by web crawling cases, previous studies, literature review, and social media data on smart tourism related to the restaurant industry. As a result, 25 items in five dimensions were derived. To examine the reliability and validity of the derived scale, exploratory factor and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. Ultimately, 20 items in 5 dimensions were derived. The final five dimensions derived were 4 items of technical integration, 4 items of convenience, 4 items of information, 4 items of smart infrastructure, and 4 items of reliability. Based on these results, theoretical and practical implications of scale development were presented.
