The purpose of this study is to reexamine the meaning of Qu Qiubai’s mass media activities and literary language theory developed in the 1920s and 1930s from a mediological perspective. Qu Qiubai tried to form a socialist ecosystem through newspaper and magazine media such as 『Xinqingnian(新靑年)』 quarterly ·『Qianfeng(前鋒)』·『Rexueribao(熱血日報)』·『Hongsezhonghua(紅色中華)』. Qu Qiubai attempted to form a Chinese socialist ecosystem through mass media such as newspapers and magazines. In other words, for Qu Qiubai, these mass media were a medium to transfer Western Marxism and Leninism to China, and were a media mechanism to convey such affect when it encountered national problems and needed to be amplified more complexly. In addition, Qu Qiubai’s mediological thinking appears to have served as the background for discovering the value of Lu Xun’s Za-Wen(雜文) writings.
Qu Qiubai’s theory of literary language, developed in the 1930s, criticized the limitations of the May Fourth Modern Language Movement(五四白話文運動) and changed Chinese linguistic order from the “Guoyu(國語)-Chinese characters(漢字)” system to “Putonghua(普通話)-Latinization of Chinese characters” in order to create a literary language for the working masses. Qu Chubai’s theory of literary language was found to have similar aspects to the “alphabetical heroism” mentioned by Regis Debray. Qu Qiubai’s literary language theory based on the Putonghua(普通話) can be evaluated as originating from anti-traditional and postcolonial thinking to overcome it based on the reality of China in the 1930s, not a blind transplant into Western alphabet culture.*표시는 필수 입력사항입니다.
