Abstract : The H-beam is widely used as an efficient member for securing the strength of structures. Built-up H-beams, which are produced in non-standard dimensions according to customer requirements, offer a high degree of freedom in cross-sectional design and are advantageous for reducing material use and addressing design diversity. Among the manufacturing processes of built-up H-beams, the welding process significantly influences structural safety and service life. The advancement of welding technology is also crucial for manufacturers in ensuring profitability in an increasingly competitive environment. In this study, we aim to investigate the applicability of a new welding process by conducting weldability experiments under various welding conditions and evaluating the characteristics of welded joints.
