본 연구는 내현적 자기애와 사회불안 간 관계에서 경험회피의 매개효과를 알아보고, 경험회피의 매개효과가 내현적 자기애와 사회불안의 사이에서 정서인식명확성의 수준에 따라 조절되는지 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 전국의 만 19세 이상의 성인 433명(남 216명, 여 217명)을 대상으로 내현적 자기애, 사회불안, 경험회피, 정서인식명확성을 측정하기 위한 척도로 구성된 설문을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 SPSS 25.0과 SPSS PROCESS Macro 3.4 프로그램을 활용하여 매개효과, 조절효과, 조절된 매개효과를 분석하였으며 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주요 변인 간 상관관계가 모두 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 내현적 자기애와 사회불안 간 관계에서 경험회피는 부분매개효과를 보였다. 셋째, 정서인식명확성은 내현적 자기애와 경험회피의 관계를 조절하였다. 넷째, 내현적 자기애가 경험회피를 매개로 사회불안에 영향을 주는 간접효과를 정서인식명확성이 조절하는 조절된 매개효과가 있는 것을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 상담 장면에서의 상담학적 함의에 대하여 논의하였고, 본 연구의 한계점 및 후속연구의 방향성을 제시하였다.

The present study aimed to examine the mediating effect of experiential avoidance in the relationship between covert narcissism and social anxiety, and to determine whether the mediating effect of experiential avoidance varies with the level of emotional clarity between covert narcissism and social anxiety. To this end, 433 adults (216 males and 217 females) aged over 19 in Korea were surveyed with a scale measuring covert narcissism, social anxiety, experiential avoidance, and emotional clarity. Based on the collected data, mediation, moderation, and moderated mediation effects were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and SPSS PROCESS Macro 3.4 programs, and the results of the study are as follows. First, the correlations among the main variables were all significant. Second, experiential avoidance had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between covert narcissism and social anxiety. Third, emotional clarity moderated the relationship between covert narcissism and experiential avoidance. Fourth, it was confirmed that emotional clarity moderated the indirect effect of covert narcissism affecting social anxiety via experiential avoidance. Based on these findings, the significance of this study and its implications for counseling practice were discussed, and limitations of this study and directions for future research were suggested.
