PURPOSES This review study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of neuromuscular training (NMT) for injury prevention and performance enhancement in tennis players. The study seeks to identify effective training methods and application strategies, and to propose practical approaches for implementing NMT.

METHODS A systematic literature review was conducted using databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar.

Search terms included “neuromuscular training,” “tennis injury,” and “tennis injury prevention.” Inclusion criteria were studies published in English from 2015 onward, with full-text availability, and involving statistical analysis of NMT interventions related to athletic performance or injury prevention.

RESULTS The analysis of selected studies demonstrated that NMT programs incorporating resistance training, plyometrics, core strength, balance, dynamic stability, and change of direction (COD) significantly improved physical performance and reduced injury risk among tennis players, particularly in youth and adolescent athletes.

CONCLUSIONS Neuromuscular training is an effective and applicable strategy for both injury prevention and performance enhancement in tennis. Given the sport’s repetitive, high-intensity, and asymmetrical demands, integrating NMT into regular training routines is essential. Future research should focus on individualized NMT programs tailored by age, skill level, and injury history to optimize training effects in tennis and other highdemand sports
