본 연구는 드림스타트에 참여하고 있는 초등학교 1-3학년 아동을 대상으로 언어 및 수학중재 프로그램이 기초학력 향상에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다. 이를 검증하기 위해 2022 년부터 2025년까지 경기도 A시의 드림스타트 기초학력 중재 프로그램에 참여한 초등학생 63명의 읽기, 쓰기, 수학 BASA 검사 결과를 사용하여 프로그램 사전-사후 검사의 차이검증(t검정)과 공변량 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 언어중재 프로그램은 아동의 읽기능력 향상에 유의미한 효과를 보였으며 , 수학중재 프로그램은 수학 능력 향상에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났지만 쓰기에서는 차이가 발생하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 취약계층 아동의 기초학력 격차 해소를 위한 조기 진단 및 맞춤형 중재의 중요성을 강조하며, 교육의 공정성을 확보하고 모든 아동의 잠재력 발현을 지원하는 데 기여할 수 있음을 시사한다.
