본 연구는 저자동시인용분석을 활용하여 국내 교육공학 분야의 대표 학술지인 "교육정보미디어연구"에 나타난 핵심 연구자들의 관계, 주요 연구 주제와 연구 영역을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 19년간(2004-2023) 본 학술지 논문 중 국내 학술지 피인용 논문 9,433편에 나오는 연구자들 중에서 단순피인용 빈도 25회 이상인 제1저자 42명을 대상으로 저자동시인용빈도 행렬과 상관계수 행렬을 구한뒤 계층적 군집분석과 다차원척도분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 저자동시인용 빈도에서 총 70,598쌍의 저자쌍이 도출되었고, 순서는 ‘강명희-주영주’(25회), ‘임정훈-임철일’(17회), ‘강명희-임철일’(15회) 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 저자 간 인용 관계는 다섯 개의 군집으로 구분되었으며, 연구영역은 교육공학의 핵심 개념인 ‘테크놀로지 기반’을 공통 주제어를 포함하고 있었다. 구체적으로는가장 큰 비중(35.7%)의 ‘테크놀로지 기반 수업의 학습 효과성’(군집 1), ‘테크놀로지 기반 수업의 개발과 전략’(군집 2), ‘테크놀로지 기반 학습환경과 학습경험’(군집 3), ‘테크놀로지와 구성주의 기반 새로운 교육 패러다임’(군집 4), ‘테크놀로지와 학습분석 기반 디지털 수업 설계’(군집 5)가 도출되었다. 이러한 결과는 본 학술지가 테크놀로지 중심의 교육공학 연구를 주요 축으로 발전해왔음을 보여주는 동시에, 학습 효과성 연구를 넘어 학습 분석, AI․디지털 및 새로운 교육 패러다임 등의 다양한 주제로연구 영역이 확장되고 있음을 실증적으로 확인시켜주며, 국내 교육공학 분야에서 저자동시인용분석을최초로 적용하여 연구자 간 인용 네트워크를 통해 분야의 지식 구조와 학문적 정체성을 시각화했다는점에서 의의가 있다.

This study identifies the relationships among key researchers, major research topics and areas in the Journal of Educational Information and Media, a leading Korean educational technology journal, by employing co-citation analysis. A total of 9,433 cited papers from domestic academic journals were collected from 707 articles published in the journal over 19 years (2004–2023). Forty-two first authors with a minimum citation frequency of 25 were selected. A co-citation frequency matrix was constructed and converted into a correlation coefficient matrix, followed by cluster analysis and multidimensional scaling analysis. First, the top co-citation pairs included M. Kang & Y. Joo (25 co-citations), J. Lim & C. Lim (17 co-citations), and M. Kang & C. Lim (15 co-citations). Second, the relationships among the authors were classified into five clusters: (1) Technology-based instructional effectiveness, (2) Technology-based instructional design and strategy, (3) Technology-based learning environments and experiences, (4) Technology and constructivism-based new educational paradigms, and (5) Technology and learning analytics-based digital instructional design. These results demonstrate that this journal has developed as a central platform for technology-oriented educational technology research while expanding its scope from instructional effectiveness to learning analytics and innovative pedagogical paradigms. This study is significant as the first to apply co-citation analysis in Korean educational technology research, visualizing the intellectual structure and academic identity of the field through author citation networks.
