본 연구는 19세기 한문학에서 아직까지 학계의 뚜렷한 주목을 받지 못했던 규정 서승보의 한시를 그의 시적 교유를 중심으로 전반적으로 고찰한 것이다. 19세기 조선의 다수의 문집들에 산견되는 규정ㆍ기산이라는 호는 19세기 당대의 저명한 학자ㆍ시인 서승보를 지칭하는 것으로, 특히 그가 19세기의 대학자 침계 윤정현과의 시적 교유도 있었음을 『침계유고』 등을 통해서 접할 수 있다. 이에 그의 생애와 학문 경향도 세밀히 다룸으로써 19세기 문학사의 일부분을 복원하고자 한 것이다.

시와 산문의 완정한 체제를 갖춘 『규정집』이 현재로서 발견되지 않고 있지만, 국립중앙도서관 소장의 편자미상 시문초록집인 『시문수초』 에는 서승보의 『규정집』에서 일부 초록된 것으로 보이는 시집 『완등루시존초』가 실려 있다. 이를 토대로 서승보 우인들의 문집들을 최대한 교직하여 서술함으로써 서승보가 참가한 시사ㆍ시회 등 시적 교유의 일면을 연구하였다. 서승보는 기본적으로 시인들을 깊이 존경하였으며 정신적 교감을 중시했던 것으로 보인다. 이를 통해 19세기의 시사활동에서 그가 남긴 문학적 성취가 결코 가볍지 않다고 판단된다. 작시 면에 있어서의 시적 감각 또한 매우 뛰어나다는 결론에 도달할 수 있었다.

This study is an overall review of the Classical Chinese poems of GyuJeong Seo Seung-bo, which has not yet received clear attention from the academic world in 19th-century Korean literature in Classical Chinese, focusing on his poetic relationship. The pen name GyuJeong and GiSan, which is found in a number of writings of Joseon in the 19th century, refers to Seo Seung-bo, a renowned scholar and poet of the 19th century, and in particular, it can be seen through 『ChimGyeYugo』 that he also had a poetic relationship with the great scholar ChimGye Yoon Jeong-hyun in the 19th century. Accordingly, I tried to restore part of the history of literature in the 19th century by closely discussing his life and academic trends.

Although 『GyuJeongjip』, which has a complete system of poetry and prose, has not been found at present, 『Si-munsucho』, a collection of poems edited by unknown editor, is owned in the National Library of Korea, contains a collection of poems, 『WandeungluSyjohncho』, which seems to have been partially abstracted from Seo Seung-bo's 『GyuJeongjip』. Based on this, and described crossly the writings of Seo Seung-bo's friends as much as possible, one aspect of poetic communication such as poets society and poetry meetings in which Seo Seung-bo participated was studied. It seems that Seo Seung-bo basically respected the poets deeply and emphasized spiritual communication. Through this, it is judged that his literary achievement at the activities in poets society of the 19th century is by no means light. I was able to conclude that his poetic sense in writing was also very good.
