본고는 병와 이형상이 낙남 이후 영천 및 경주 지역 문사들과 교유한 구체적 실상을 고찰하고자 집필하였다. 병와가 영천에 거주하게 된 이유는 여러 가지가 있지만 인적 교유와 물적 지원도 하나의 중요한 계기가 되었다. 병와의 영천에서의 초기 정착과 교유에서 가장 핵심적인 인물로 박성세, 이명윤, 그리고 안후정이 있다. 이들을 바탕으로 지역에서의 교유 범위가 확대되어 갔는데 이명윤·이명계 형제를 비롯한 벽진이씨, 안후정·안여택 부자의 광주안씨, 정석달·정중기 부자, 정만양·정규양 형제의 오천정씨, 조선장과 조익한·조선적 숙질의 창녕조씨, 손한추·손한기 형제의 밀양손씨, 성하구·성헌조 부자의 창녕성씨 등등이 병와의 교유에서 눈에 띄는 인물과 가문들이다. 이외 권륙과 권려의 안동권씨, 서유민의 달성서씨, 양명화의 청주양씨, 노수갑의 광주노씨 등등의 인물과 가문이 보인다. 이들 가문과 문사를 중심으로 병와의 교유는 크게 확장되었는데 그러한 흔적이 󰡔병와전서󰡕를 비롯한 여러 유람록 등에 오롯이 담겨 있다.

This study aims to examine the specific aspects of Byeongwa Yi Hyeong-sang’s interactions with literati in the Yeongcheon and Gyeongju regions after his relocation to Yeongnam.

Personal connections and material supports constituted a significant factor among the multiple reasons for Byeongwa’s settlement in Yeongcheon.

According to Byeongwa Jeonseo (甁窩全書), the collected works of the scholar Yi Hyeong-sang, it identifies three key figures who played central roles in his early years in Yeongcheon—Park Seong-se, Yi Myeong-yun, and An Hu-jeong.

Based on these ties, Byeongwa gradually extended his network to prominent regional clans. He engaged in exchanges with the Byeokjin Yi clan (Yi Myeong-yun and Yi Myeong-gye), the Gwangju An clan (An Hu-jeong and An Yeo-taek), and the Ocheon Jeong clan (Jeong Seok-dal and Jeong Jung-gi).

He also established ties with the Ocheon Jeong clan (Jeong Man-yang and Jeong Gyu-yang), the Changnyeong Jo clan (Jo Seon-jang, Jo Ik-han, and Jo Seon-jeok), the Miryang Son clan (Son Han-chu and Son Han-gi), and the Changnyeong Seong clan (Seong Ha-gu and Seong Heon-jo).

These connections demonstrate the key figures and clans that shaped Byeongwa’s social and intellectual interactions.

Other significant networks include the Andong Gwon clan (Gwon Ryuk and Gwon Ryeo), the Dalseong Seo clan (Seo Yu-min), the Cheongju Yang clan (Yang Myeong-hwa), and the Gwangju No clan (No Su-gap).

Anchored in these clans and local literati, Byeongwa’s social and literary network expanded significantly, and these social and intellectual interactions are recorded in Byeongwa Jeonseo and various travel records.
