This study comparatively examines the architectural planning characteristics and mixed-use strategies of professional baseball stadiums in Korea (KBO), the United States (MLB), and Japan (NPB). While baseball stadiums have evolved into key cultural and economic landmarks, their spatial planning and urban integration strategies differ significantly across nations. The research framework consists of three analytical dimensions: urban integration, spatial organization, and mixed-use strategies. Case studies were conducted on nine KBO, twelve NPB, and thirty MLB stadiums based on architectural documentation and field analysis. Results show that Korean stadiums remain largely sports-centered, focusing on operational efficiency but lacking urban connectivity and daily usability. Japanese stadiums pursue multi-functional cultural integration, combining dome-type structures with commercial and public facilities to enhance urban engagement. American stadiums represent the most advanced mixed-use model, blending context-sensitive design, fan-centered spatial organization, and diverse leisure programs that activate the city beyond the game day. The study concludes that future Korean baseball stadiums should shift from single-purpose venues to urban cultural infrastructures through improved public accessibility, spectator-oriented environments, and off-season activation programs. This research provides architectural and planning insights for establishing sustainable design strategies for next-generation sports complexes.
