본 연구의 목적은 서사와 대사 중심 분석에 집중된 기존 애니메이션 젠더 연구와 달리, 캐릭터의 젠더 표현을 체계적으로 설명할 수 있는 분석체계를 제안하고 그것의 타당성을 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 디즈니 장편 애니메이션의 여성 캐릭터가 구현하는 젠더 표현을 보다 체계적으로 분석할 수 있도록 에니어그램 성격 유형과 라반 움직임 분석 이론을 통합한 새로운 분석체계를 제시했다. 또한 이를 검증하기 위해 백설 공주, 벨, 뮬란, 엘사, 라야 등 디즈니 장편 애니메이션의 주요 여성 캐릭터를 대상으로 10인의 전문가 집단이 정성·정량 평가에 참여하여 분석체계의 타당성과 신뢰도를 검토했다. 따라서 본 연구는 다양한 애니메이션 캐릭터 분석에서 활용 가능한 객관적 분석 도구를 검증함으로써, 캐릭터 기반 젠더 연구의 해석적 지평을 확장한다.

This study aims to establish and validate a systematic analytical framework for examining gender representation in animated characters, moving beyond the narrative – and dialogue-centered focus that has dominated previous animation gender research. To his end, the study integrates Enneagram personality typology with Laban Movememt Analysis to propose a new framework capable of capturing both the internal motivations and performative expressions of character gender. The framework was empirically tested through qualitative and quantitative evaluations conducted by a panel of ten experts, using five key female protagonists from Disney feature animations - Snow White, Belle, Mulan, Elsa, and Raya – as analytical cases. The results confirm the framework’s validity and reliability as an objective tool applicable to diverse animated character analyses.
